Anna-Marie Sparks, President
Anna-Marie Sparks is well known in the Concord business community with more than 20
years in the employment and staffing industry. She began as a temporary employee and rose
to branch manager of an international staffing firm before becoming president of Sparks
Employment Group. She knows the business from the bottom up and treats both employees
and clients with the utmost respect.
Anna-Marie specializes in matching qualified employees with top quality employers. With a
no-nonsense approach to saving companies time and money, she helps job seekers find the job
opportunities that are right for them.
She is a member of the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, where she is on the Ambassador Committee and
serves on many other committees. She is in SHRM and in the Human Resources Association of Greater
Concord and has served as a Board Member. She also served on the Granite State HRC Committee.
She is a tireless volunteer.
Sparks Employment Group was named the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the
Year for 2007. Anna-Marie recently graduated from the 2007 Leadership Greater Concord Program
and was recently named to the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
She is also a member of the New England/New Hampshire Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Board of
Directors. She is a member of the Greater Laconia-Weirs Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Bernie Sparks, Executive Director
Bernie Sparks, founder and executive director of Sparks Employment Group, has more than
three decades of supervisory, management, and leadership experience in the U.S. Army 10th
Special Forces Group (ABN), the New Hampshire State Police, and the University of New
Hampshire Police Department. Bernie is also president of 21st Century Leadership LLC, a
workplace issues consulting and training company.
Bernie received his master's degree in Public Administration with a specialty in Public
Human Resource Management from the University of New Hampshire in 2003. He holds undergraduate
degrees in criminal justice and accounting from St. Anselm's College and Franklin Pierce
College. Bernie was selected as a member of the first cohort in the new Doctorate of Arts in
Transformational Leadership at Franklin Pierce University. His studies focus on creative
leadership, progressive human resources techniques, ethics and organizational planning in
the 21st century.
Bernie is an adjunct faculty member of Southern New Hampshire University teaching in the
Forensic Accounting program. He is a member of the Business Advisory Board for the Center
for Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation (CESI). He is a certified facilitator
for the Kaufman Institute's Fasttrac program in New Ventures and Growth Ventures
entrepreneurship training courses.
He is an adjunct professor at Franklin Pierce University, teaching various courses in
the MBA in Leadership program along with undergraduate courses. He also is adjunct
faculty at Granite State College and Hesser College where he teaches classes ranging
from oral communications to criminal investigations to security management.
Bernie is a member of the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce and the Greater
Laconia-Weirs Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Pi Sigma Alpha honor society for MPA graduates.
